CONGRESOS

DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE IT?

Thanks to my sister I found the CIA´s page, and I couldn´t belive what I was reading, can you imagine what was my surprise to look information about our nation -México-, at that page?, it has a lot of things for example, Geography, things about people, like nationality, ethnic groups, religion, age, mortality rate, maternal mortality rate, life expectancy at birth, health expenditures, etc. but my major surprise was to read the following:

"Mexico has a free market economy in the trillion dollar class. It contains a mixture of modern and outmoded industry and agriculture, increasingly dominated by the private sector. Recent administrations have expanded competition in seaports, railroads, telecommunications, electricity generation, natural gas distribution, and airports. Per capita income is roughly one-third that of the US; income distribution remains highly unequal. Since the implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in 1994, Mexico's share of US imports has increased from 7% to 12%, and its share of Canadian imports has doubled to 5%."  Do you believed?

"In 2007, during its first year in office, the Felipe CALDERON administration was able to garner support from the opposition to successfully pass pension and fiscal reforms". Is there any Mexican apart from the president and the congressmen who may think that these Reforms had done something good for the Mexican People? Do you really think that these changes to the pension´s law are going to help old people?

The administration continues to face many economic challenges, including improving the public education system, upgrading infrastructure, modernizing labor laws, and fostering private investment in the energy sector. CALDERON has stated that his top economic priorities remain reducing poverty and creating job!". Ja! I don´t know if I should cry or laugh about this statement, ja, because according to INEGI and the CONEVAL, there are 10.1 millions of people older than 60 years, and more than 7 millions of them live in poverty!.

That´s why people I ask you, do you believe it?

WHY DID I CHOOSE THIS MATTER?

In order to be honest, I have to say that I´m a doctor (I don´t have a doctorate), and my specialty is internal medicine, but I always have been in love of the Geriatrics, so when the opportunity came, I couldn´t avoid it and I´ve chosen to study my master in Public Health but with an orientation to the adulthood, specifically the old ones.

That´s why I´ve been working in a topic that can be interesting to Public Health but also for Medicine and of course wonderful for me.

At the beginning I was thinking about studying quality of life, (and to say the truth I still do), but I had a lot of problems for that, so I decided to keep this project in my mind and find something that could be achievable and attainable, that´s why I am working now in something that it´s interesting for all of us: MONEY. Yes, I have decided to study how much the Institution where I work spends in a program to attend at home sick people, we call it, "THE ADEC". It´s home care to chronic disease people.

I really hope this project can be accepted this December because I´ve been thinking and working for it.

Thanks a lot for read me and I hope to find more participations and comments, and of course I really need followers.

See you.

I hope to look so good at her age.
